| Data center for the PZU Group |

 On March 31, 2010 in Piaseczno solemnly, with the participation of many distinguished guests, there was opened data center for the group PZU. The project involved the creation of two centers: basic situated in Piaseczno and backup DC located in Warsaw. Qumak-Sekom was the contractor for a backup data center located in the building of PZU Tower in Warsaw.
- This was a particularly demanding project because the server room was built into the existing infrastructure of object and its implementation could not interfere the workplace. This presented us with a serious challenge in a very short period of implementation – recalls Jacek Suchenek, Director of Intelligent Building Technology Division in the Qumak-Sekom SA. Under the contract, the company's specialists have developed the concept of backup center, performed and carried out the design of the administrative procedure, obtained appropriate permits and approval for implementation of the project. Then there were performed construction works and installation in the following areas: power and the power reserve, air conditioning and ventilation, teletechnical systems, automation and BMS. The culmination of which was starting all systems and technical equipment. Centre is equipped with the appropriate information and communication systems, security and fire protection. The contract also includes servicing on the 24/7/365 basis by a three-year warranty. The works were carried out from August to November 2009. The value of the performed work is PLN 6 million gross.

 Qumak-Sekom was a platinum sponsor, as well as, a participant in the fifth edition of the INTELLIGENT BUILDING SYSTEMS – InBuS 2009 congress, which was organized by the Faculty of Management at the AGH-University of Science and Technology in Krakow. The deliberations of the congress took place on 22-23 October in Krakow- under the auspices of a prof. Jacek Majchrowski, the President of the City of Krakow, and of a prof. Antoni Tajdu¶, the Rector of AGH.
During the meeting there were various issues discussed regarding, for instance, the architectural design of intelligent buildings, automatic controls of safety, comfort, and information flow, modern systems of work comfort and relaxation, or the application of artificial intelligence methods in the management of buildings. „We decided to take part in the congress due to the increasingly fruitful cooperation between our company and AGH-University of Science and Technology” – says Paweł Jagu¶, the President of the Board of Qumak-Sekom. „The congress is an excellent forum for exchanging experiences between business and science, and its theme fits perfectly in the activities of our company" – P.Jagu¶ adds.

 Qumak-Sekom SA and AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow signed the Letter of Intent on 5th October.
On behalf of the parties the letter was signed by the Rector of AGH, prof. Dr hab. Antoni Tajdu¶ and the President of the Board of Qumak-Sekom, Paweł Jagu¶.
Both parties decided to establish a long-term cooperation in areas of mutual interest and competence, including the field of education, transfer of knowledge and technology.
The cooperation is to include a wide area, in particular, it will focus on:
• promoting cooperation between science and business development in key areas for modern information society development,
• exchange of experience in the field of modern technologies,
• personnel training in the desired by the market specializations,
• joint planning and investment in the area of new technologies, which will be conducted by AGH, and in which Qumak-Sekom has relevant competences and experience,
• identifying the market needs for new technologies and implementation of joint projects, which aim would be working on development of technological solutions suitable for the market, and joint offering of these solutions to potential users. 
Parties have also committed themselves to mutual promotion of their activities. “I am convinced that this letter will be the basis for the implementation of many interesting projects, which will serve to develop, still fledgling in Poland, effective cooperation between science and business” – underlines, Paweł Jagu¶, the President of the Board of Qumak-Sekom SA. |
| Savant triumphs again |

 The most important trophy of III Amateur Football Tournament for the President of Qumak Sekom SA Cup – CUP, went - for the second time in the tournament’s history - to the team Savant Polska. Second place on the podium was taken by Polkomtel team, and a bronze medal was given to football players from the company Kramar. The best team in the penalty kick proved to be the representation of Capgemini Polska.
This year’s football tournament was held on Friday, September 4, in Krakow in the J&J Sport Center Skotniki. 12 teams participated, representing the company’s business clients and sponsors. Representation teams were: Alior Bank SA, BGK, Budimex Dromex SA, Capgemini Polska, Fortis Bank SA, Karmar SA, Polkomtel SA, Savant Polska, Strabag, Warbud SA, sponsors teams: Emmerson Lumico, Delta Controls, Moeller Electric, Schrack Seconet, and a hosting team Qumak-Sekom SA. Media partner of the event became a sports portal Futbol.pl. Apart from awards for teams, there were also given individual honours. Prize and the title of the best scorer tournament received Mr Łukasz Noga from Polkomtel team. The award for the best goalkeeper went to Mr Radosław Buczkowi from the Strabag company. In the penalty kick contest the best were: Mr Marcin Michalski from BGK – the best scorer, and Mr Andrzej Szczotka from Capgemini – the best goalkeeper. Special prize, a t-shirt with the autographs of the players club Wisla Krakow, was given to Mrs Katarzyna Sielewicz from Savant as the only woman taking part in the tournament and a scorer of one goal for the team in match with Alior Bank. Awards Ceremony took place in the Manor in Tomaszowice. This evening full of surprises was also graced with the presence of special guests: Mr Marek Wilczek, the President of the club Wisła Krakow SA, and representatives of the Polish Champion - Rafał Boguski i Ilje Cebanu. Artistic part of the evening belonged to the cabaret Nowaki from Zielona Gora – this year’s PAKI and cabaret evenings in Lidzbark Warminski prizewinner. Artists performed their 30 minute show, providing us with a great fun. The men from the cabaret were also hosts and ran the evening, causing the prize-giving ceremony gaining a humorous setting.
