Qumak-Sekom PLN 4 million richer

Over PLN 4 million net – this amount will be added to account of Qumak-Sekom SA under contract signed with the National Research Institute of Agricultural and Food Economics. The project includes the development and integration of information systems of the Institute.

The contract includes also the construction of modern and efficient internal LAN network, together with dedicated power supply. In addition, under the adaptation of UPS server rooms, the following systems shall be made: air conditioning, gas extinguish system, access control system with alarm and emergency power supply. The IP telephone system will be installed and launched. Qumak-Sekom will also ensure the reliability and security of the IT system, among others: through monitoring and control of user access permissions and security system at the interface to the internet. The Institute shall gain also multimedia equipment for video conferencing. Qumak-Sekom also provide the infrastructure elements such as: servers, arrays, tape libraries, network switches LAN and SAN.

The work will be carried out in both buildings of the Institute located in Warsaw at ¦więtokrzyska and Szkolna streets.

The company experts have 12 months to execute the agreement subject, starting from the date of signing the contract.


Brussels – the first stop in EU

The consortium of companies Qumak-Sekom and Jacques Delens SA from Belgium signed with the Permanent Representation of Poland to the European Union an agreement worth more than EUR 19 million net.

The subject matter of the agreement is execution of the full range of construction, assembly, and detail works under reconstruction, modernization and equipping of the building located on Rue Stevin 139 in Brussels, into office for Permanent Representation of Poland to the European Union.

- We gained contract, which is not only our first implementation abroad, but also will be a test of our skills and knowledge – says Jacek Suchenek, Director of Intelligent Building Technology Division in the Qumak-Sekom SA. – The building has to meet all the criteria of a modern office building, and the priority is safety of diplomatic mission and the people working there. We have a great sense of responsibility for the investment, which will be ready before the leadership takeover of Poland in the European Union – J. Suchenek adds.

Qumak-Sekom will perform electrical installations of medium and low voltage, in this a reserve power including emergency power supply (UPS) and power generator. Qumak-Sekom will equip the facility in a comprehensive security system. It will consist of fire protection systems, among others, installations of fire detection, alarm systems, and fire extinguishing equipment FM-200. Backed up by other security systems necessary for this type of institution: access control, CCTV, facial recognition, and recognition of license plates of cars, sound system. In the building there will be executed structure cabling, RTV and audio-video installations, and building automation systems. All installations will be integrated and centrally managed through the use of building management system (BMS) and Safety Management System (SMS).

Works related to ICT systems, installations ensuring the safety of the facility and building automation (BMS) will be performed by people with security clearance authorizing to have an access to classified information with the clause of "confidential" at least”.

As planned, the value of works performed by Qumak-Sekom is more than EUR 4 million net. Consortium has 52 weeks to execute the agreement.


Intelligent Center for AGH

In Krakow there will rise Academic Center of Materials and Nanotechnology. The project is executed by consortium of companies Warbud SA and Qumak-Sekom SA. The agreement with AGH-University of Science and Technology, worth over PLN 26 mln. net, was signed in the presence of prof. dr. hab. Antoni Tajdu¶, Rector of AGH, on February 10, 2010.

- We execute second didactic object  of such demanding parameters in Krakow – says Jacek Nowiński, the Director of Sales Department of Intelligent Building Technologies sector in Qumak-Sekom. – Experience already gained in the realization of the Jagiellonian Innovation Center, allows us to implement very sophisticated automation, teletechnical or power systems – he adds.

Under the agreement Qumak-Sekom will carry power and teletechnical installations, as well as air conditioning and ventilation. In terms of energy provided among others: network reconstruction, site lighting, execution of installations of lightning protection and distribution center. The building is equipped with modern teletechnical systems including fire protection (fire detection and alarm, smoke extraction), security (access control, burglary and robbery alarm, CCTV television). There will be executed installation of networks, also.

- Project Academic Center of Materials and Nanotechnology involves widening of the European Research Area (ERA) through establishing a modern research center and development of high-tech construction and functional materials, as well as materials nanotechnologies. The strategic objective of the project is to increase competitiveness and importance of AGH as a meaningful international scientific center, cooperating with similar research centers within our borders, in Europe and all over the word – the professor Marek Szczerba from AGH informs, Project Manager and Coordinator of the Center for New Materials and Nanotechnology CZT AKCENT Małopolska. - Institute an area of approximately 6 000 m2, will be equipped with modern science and technology laboratories, a unique research apparatus, for example spectro-microscopy device, „clean room” with nanolitography, ultra-high electron microscopy device – professor M. Szczerba explains.

Works will begin on 18 February 2010, and their completion is scheduled for March 31, 2012.


Qumak-Sekom has the National Stadium

A consortium of three companies: Qumak-Sekom SA, Elektrobudowa SA and a Przedsiębiorstwo AGAT SA, signed an agreement with the general contractor at the National Stadium in Warsaw, for a complex implementation of power and teletechnical works. All the works covered by the contract was valued at EUR PLN 91 000 000 net.  The value of works executed by Qumak-Sekom is estimated at PLN 30 000 000.
Under this contract Qumak-Sekom is responsible for the design and implementation of all low voltage installations.
The scope of work is very wide and comprises four main solution groups:
• Fire systems– fire alarm system, sound warning system, smoke venting system, CO and LPG detection, patient call light system,
• Safety systems, such as: access control system, burglary and assault system, CCTV cabling system, cabling for fare system, intercoms and video intercoms,
• ICT solutions, among them structural cabling and RTV-SAT systems,
• Other systems for the stadium, including for instance: parking system, cash intercoms, clock system.
All of these installations will be integrated and will be managed centrally with the use of BMS (Building Management System) and SMS (Security Management System).
These solutions will provide security and comfort for the attendants and spectators of the Euro 2012 games, together with  the attendants of any other events of any nature, which in future will be organized at the National Stadium. - We announced that we are hoping for large contracts related to investments in EURO 2012– reminds Jacek Suchenek, Director of Intelligent Building Technology Division in the Qumak-Sekom SA.  – We are very pleased that our company will contribute to the creation of such a prestigious facility. Gaining such a contract, we perceive as recognition of our competence and experience in such projects.

Completion of all works is planned for 4 May 2011.

At present Qumak-Sekom is executing similar projects at the stadiums of Legia Warsaw and Wisla Krakow, and is also attempting to implement the project for PGE Arena in Gdansk.


Qumak-Sekom delivered a supercomputer for the Jagiellonian University

On 22 December 2009 the supercomputer was officially launched, that Qumak-Sekom provided for the Department of Physics, Astronomy, and Applied Computer Science at the Jagiellonian University. The agreement, concluded on 12 October, amounted to PLN 1 815 530 net and it included delivery and installation of the equipment together with software and the full configuration. Under the agreement, the system integrator carried out the tests and trained personnel of the Department.

- This project allowed us to gain another highly valuable experience in this specialized implementation. The more valuable because in Poland there are only 5 companies having competence at this type of projects. We can say that we are one of the leaders. – says Rafał Dragosz, Director of Sales Department to the public sector in Qumak-Sekom SA.

The purchase for the University was funded by the project under the name of: “The study of systems at atomic scale, sciences for innovative economy (ATOMIN)”, co-funded by the European Union under the European Regional Development Fund - Innovative Economy Operational Program.

It is worth mentioning that this is the next project of similar type. Qumak-Sekom has directed the delivery, installation and configuration of the computer cluster (HPC) together with software for the Academic Computer Center CYFRONET, AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow. Value of mentioned agreement amounted to PLN 1 700 000 net.
